Inpho Interviews a Cat, Part Two

(Cartoon of Inpho's spaceship flying through space.) Inpho: Hey everyone, and welcome back to the podcast.
(Inpho at the microphone.) Inpho: Before the break, my guest Hiroki was explaining why all our current perceptions about cats are wrong.
Inpho: Okay, Hiroki. Please enlighten us. Hiroki: Yes, well, you see...
Hiroki: When you look up cats online, chances are you're gonna find one of a few things...
(Various images of cats.) Hiroki: You might see some cute pictures of cats, or funny videos of cats, you also might find some comics about cats. Cats seem to be in comics a lot for some reason.
(Hiroki at the microphone.) Hiroki: What people don't know is that, in reality, cats are much more than what the internet makes them appear to be.
Inpho: Okay, so what are cats in reality, then? Hiroki: You want to know the reality, do you? Well, it's simple really...
(Cartoon of a shining idol of a cat.) Hiroki: Cats are gods!
(Cartoon of Egyptian cat goddess, Bastet in a hyroglyph.) Hiroki: That's right. Most people have forgotten, but there was a time when humans worshipped cats. The Egyptians revered us as symbols of cleanliness, and for our ability to guard the house against rats and scorpions.
(Back to Inpho and Hiroki in the podcast studio.) Inpho: So what happened? How come cats aren't gods anymore? Hiroki: Because!...
(Cartoon of Inpho absorbed in his smartphone.) Hiroki: Because humans have lost their sense for the divine. You're all so self-obsessed. You barely even look up to see the beauty in the world around you.
(Back to the studio.) Inpho: Couldn't it also be that humans don't want to worship an animal that licks its own crotch?
(Hiroki stares blankly. Crickets.)
(Inpho's spaceship flying through space.) Inpho: And that's all the time we have for today, folks. Hope you'll join us next time on Inpho's Imaginary Podcast.
